Action for Better World (ABWA) is a registered Non-governamental organisation in Kenya that brings volunteers from allover the world to support throug volunateering and funding projects and prgrams in slums. ABWA partners with like-minded individuals and organisation to drive change and impact the world through the areas of HIV/AIDS, Farming, Slum rehabilitation, Computer literacy and games. Our scope is curved along the needs of the youth, women and children. We encourage collaborations and partnership so as to transform the needy in our society.
We understand the need for partnership and collaboration to speed up change and influence outcomes through a pool of resources. Our need for change enable us to open doors for locally available partnership and collaboration and donation platform to international volunteers.
With different programs and projects in our various locations, slum projects remain to be a pivotal point of change and impact. Mathare slum has a population of over 600,000 dwellers. The living conditions are dire, crime rates are high, unplanned pregnancies for young girls is rampant.
Through our Arts centre, volunteers spend time with kids showing them how to paint, draw and design different aspects of life. Through this, the children come out greatly empowered, happy and eager to share their experiences with their peers. We experience an increase in numbers everyday we have the program..
