Action For Better World Association (AFBWA) At ACTION FOT BETTER WORLD ASSCOCIATION we understand that all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since 2014, we have involved the youth, women, children and international volunteers in different community development projects with the goal of making an impact through volunteering. the CORE of our efforts is to bring team's fresh ideas and passion to the range of our activities where everyone can have basic needs in the society.
Umiisyu Women Group is located in Makueni County Kibwezi town. The group has 30 members who involve themselves in farming . It started in 2015 due to long drought and the stop of charcoal burning by the government which initially was the main source of family income. The projects seeks to empower women through farming. Local and international volunteers will work with the women group in their farm aswell aas also making visits to their homes where they live and share african meals while spending time with their families. Additionaly the voluntters will geet a chance to learn the indigenous language and the cultures.
We have rolled our sleeves hence ensuring that we offer talents identification and p=management to the children in our society. We empower them on drawing, painting and curving .....
Mathare is one of the oldest and biggest slumin Kenya with a population of over 600,000 people per every kilometer square (3km2). The slum is popularly known for it's poor infrastructures, poor healthy facilities, dirty and poorly maintained schools and extremely poor social amenities. The slum dwellers here survive on less a dollar per day with many of the homes enjoying just one meal per day, which is oftenly not guaranteed. Due to lack of proper education, most children and the youth run to crimes, prostitution and drug abuse as a source of survival....
