Mathare Youth Group

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Mathare Youth group started in the year 2009 after a year of post election violence. It is located in Mathare valley in Nairobi County. Mathare Valley is one of the largest slum in East Africa with approximate 600,000 people living less than a dollar a day. Crime and HIV?AIDS are common.The main aim of the group was to bring youths together for peace after violence.

Action for Better World Association  is to nature talents and promote talents and skills .

To conserve environment through cleaning of the area and garbage collection.

VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES: Volunteers will engage in photography,film production,music,cleaning the slum and garbage collection. Will also engage in sports,teaching in Caso Upendo primary school and Grasam Secondary school.

ACCOMMODATION: volunteerts will be accommodated in host families where they share same meal with the family. The activity sites will be walking distance from home.
